European wasps can be brought under control by a few simple steps:
1. Monitoring,
- Trapping Queens coming out of hibernation.
- Early detection
- Where to focus resources
- How to know when we are winning
2. Engaging the community
- Know what to look for,
- Look around their property / business
- Engage with their neighbours
- Be observant on public land
3. Make it easy to report and inexpensive to destroy nests
4. Celebrate successes
5. Develop a community strike force to target problem areas
6. A strategic baiting program.
7. Trapping new queens before they go into hibernation in autumn
